ABOUT FOUNDATION



Fr.Baselius was an unassuming person with a great vision. He rose from humble origins and grew up in the soil of the syro-malabar church. His life, a rare flower in the Christian community of kerala, epitomises its dreams about bringing the message of Christ closer to their lives and to the whole people of the nation. In a time of great vitality for the Kerala church he materialised its visions in his life. Fr.ThomasPanatt was a priest in the archdiocese of Ernakulam. He was appointed as Parish Priest in Mookkannur on 1924 February 03rd.

He was entrusted as manager of the sacred heart orphanage and care of the Attara Property along with the duty of the parish priestby the Archbishop Mar Augustine Kandathil. Besides the pastoral care of the parish he dedicated his time and energy for the development of the village of Mookkannur. He started Brotherhood with the permission of the Archbishop to look after the well- being of the orphanage, The Ashram Chapeldevoted to ST. Therese, Carpentry, Bee Keeping, Weaving school, Karayamparambu-Ezhattumugham Road, Canal for irrigation purpose, MAGJ Hospital, Post Office , Library, introduced Modern farming methods, Initial Preparations to start Kokkunu, Thabor Parishes, to establish Federal Bank and panchayat office fr.Baselius co-operated with responsible people.

To Keep the Memories of this great person and to make known his efforts to the new generations of mookkannur few people around mookkannur started Fr. BaseliusPanattcst Charitable foundation in 2013 February Inagurated by Mar. Thomas Chakaiyath.



OBJECTIVES



The following are the primary and foremost objectives of the foundation

1.To act for the goodness of Socio,Cultural,Educational,Agricultural and environmental spheres of the society.

2.In order to preserve the reminiscence of Rev.Fr.Baselius and thereby to preach and teach the valuable ideas and his views through conducting Seminars and classes,by publishing the leaflets and other means of social publications.

3.To Reward andAward to the recognized persons for their contributions in socio,economic,religious,agricultural,environmental and cultural activities.

4.To uphold and assist the backward communities to be on the forefront.

5.To conduct general awareness classes and demonstrate the socio,ethical values such as love,benevolence,humanity and kindness in a view to nourish and breed the same among the society.

6.To initiate and act upon any goodness whichever stands for the welfare and goodness of the society.
